According to the NJCL website, "National Classics Week is the JCL's annual celebration of the civilizations of Greece and Rome and their continuing impact upon our contemporary culture, language, arts, etc. All around the country, we invite members of the JCL and admirers of the classics to carry out community service and publicity projects to give back to their local communities while promoting the enduring legacy of the classical Greco-Roman languages and civilizations. The festivities will culminate in a celebration of the founding of Rome 2773 years ago on April 21st. We invite you to join us in paying homage to the languages and cultures we love best."
